30 Boko Haram members killed in Adamawa

Adamawa - 30 members of the terrorist
group, Boko Haram, have been killed in a gun
duel with soldiers and vigilance group in an
Adamawa village, Punch reports.
The vigilante said the insurgents confronted
the soldiers who were assisted by the
vigilance group at the border of Kirchinga/
Imirs villages of Madagali Local Government
Area of the state.
He said the battle raged on Sunday night,
narrating that the insurgents fell prey to an
ambush of the soldiers and the vigilance
group.
Meanwhile the Permanent Secretary, Ministry
of Defence, Aliyu Ismail, said on Monday that
the Nigerian Armed Forces were working hard
to ensure that the mandate of crushing Boko
Haram before the end of the year was
realised.
He said this in an interview with State House
Press Corps after the Service Chiefs briefed
President Muhammadu Buhari on the military
operations in the North-East, and South-
South regions.
He said that the visit was to update the
President on the progress made so far after
the military reviewed its operations in the last
60 days.
